What is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine-Copper) is a naturally occurring tripeptide bound to copper ions and present in human blood, saliva and urine. Its concentration decreases with age, from ~200 ng/ml at 20 years to ~80 ng/ml at 60.

The copper complex is key to its biological activity because copper ions participate in numerous enzymatic processes related to tissue regeneration and collagen synthesis.

How it works

It stimulates the synthesis of type I and III collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans, the main structural components of the skin.

It activates matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) to remodel damaged tissue and stimulates their inhibitors (TIMPs) for balanced renewal.

It is a powerful antioxidant that neutralises free radicals and reduces oxidative stress in skin cells.

It stimulates angiogenesis for an improved blood supply to the skin.

How it is administered

Subcutaneously, 1 time daily. Progressive protocol: Weeks 1–4: 1 mg. Weeks 5–8: 1.5 mg. Weeks 9–12+: 2 mg.

50 mg pen: 1 unit = 166.7 µg. 100 mg pen: 1 unit = 333 µg.
